Spicy cucumber salad

2 large English cucumbers 1 medium green jalapeno ( with or without seeds) 1/2 medium red onion 1/2 cup of good quality olive oil 1/2 cup good quality red wine vinegar 2 tbls white granulated sugar I sliced the cucumber unpeeled on a mandolin at a thin setting, did likewise for the jalapeno leaving in the seeds, I then grated the onion on a medium setting. Then I just added the remaining ingredients and stirred. After that I refrigerated it covered for an hour. After marinating you may drain the dressing so the cucumbers don't get soggy.  Also note there is no salt this is to prevent the cukes from losing their crispness.  You may add salt when serving. Drained I believe  This salad  will last 2-3 days in the refrigerator
